from the heavens to the ground

PREFACE
Ghost is a concept band, and its members are fictional characters played onstage and in videos by musicians and actors. Rain is my take on a member with little in the way of established canon; he's based on stage observations, a little fanon, a little self indulgence, and some cool lore made up by my lovely Seestor witchimage.

BASIC INFO
➤ Rain is a demon - specifically, the demon Amdusias - called up by Sister Imperator to serve the Ministry of Ghost as the bassist in its missionary band, headed by Papa Emeritus IV (supposedly the Antichrist, previously known as Cardinal Copia); the Ghouls before his time were humans serving the church
➤ He, like the other Ghouls, is nicknamed after his most fitting element
➤ His mask/outfit has - and will - change with each new album cycle, but under the mask he looks like a void in a human silhouette, sometimes with eyes (and sometimes with more eyes than he strictly should have)
➤ He is a demonic entity holding himself in a humanoid shape, so he can get a little weird if he loses focus for whatever reason
➤ He has a masculine body shape and rolls with the he/him pronouns people use but honestly, gender? He doesn't even know 'er
➤ He's an intelligent being, and can talk, but struggles a little with human voice sounds; generally, he sounds a little uncanny, a bit like when a corvid or a computer says words. (I personally imagine something like the Mac TTS "Oliver" voice, or something like the voice of the person he's talking to, if he's being extra weird.) Please don't mind the occasional slip of his a͎͇͉c̘͔̘c̡̺̙e̞͚͕n̞̟͚t̺͍͜, either
➤ His real voice, when he's not squeezing it into human sounds, is very much like thunder, crashing waves, or a heavy storm.

PERSONALITY
➤ He's more reserved and less boisterous than the other Ghouls. This is because the last time he was on Earth, he was sent back to Hell in a series of events so embarrassing for him he's still smarting from/sulking about it and doesn't particularly want to draw major attention to himself
➤ The exception to this reserved demeanour is his snarkiness coming out when other Ghouls are dicking around, like Sodo and Aether doing their long, drawn-out guitar battles
➤ They're here to do a job, stop showing off :\
➤ He's branching out as of the Re-Imperatour, though — getting a little spicier on stage now that Aether is gone
➤ Now that he's in a more mellowed out era of his existence - all his conquering and wrath was ages ago - he has a little more curiosity about humans, what makes them so corruptible, and the way they behave in general; he's getting better at observing and mimicking things and will sometimes - to others' annoyance or disturbance - mimic someone's voice entirely while talking to them
➤ Because of this curiosity, he will occasionally grow attached to some humans, especially those already involved with the demonic/supernatural
➤ He's one of the Ghouls most likely to actually do what Sister says the first time, but at the same time, he has a tendency to 'innocently' do stuff he's not really supposed to, like wander out of the Ministry or get pulled into the other Ghouls' nonsense, and then act all contrite after. He's just a li'l guuuuy 🥺
